George Washington Carver

I know Black History Month is over, but this morning I’m fascinated by George Washington Carver. Born into slavery, he relentlessly pursued an education to postgrad level. Became part of the teaching faculty at Booker T. Washington’s new Tuskegee University where he researched botany. Carver devoted himself to farm reform, promoting crops other than cotton (like peanuts) to develop agricultural resilience in the South. Carver and Henry Ford were buddies apparently.
