Age discrimination has absolutely no place in technology. Yet it exists. After age 40, engineers find it increasingly difficult to get appropriate jobs. Startups are supposed to “trade against” the inefficiencies of other companies but, on this issue, the venture capital (VC) funded startups are the biggest source of the problem. Youth and inexperience have become virtues, while older people who push back against dysfunction (and, as well, outright exploitation) are cited as “resistant to change”.
What is this about?
This is my attic blog. It's an archive of old blog entries and posts on various blogs and blog-like things. When I close a project down, it goes here. This may move, the links aren't permanent, but if you're interested in reading stuff I've written over the years – go nuts!
CAUTION: it's about as well sorted as you'd expect an attic to be.
